The energy of Spring is in the air in the Northern Hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere, the balance of light and dark is being experienced as Autumn. For me, more daylight, warmer days, the recent rains giving way to new sprouts and green hills always makes me feel more vital and awake. Nature waking up from its slumber tends to bring hope, optimism and the promise of new beginnings. In aligning ourselves with nature’s rhythms, we engage in rituals such as spring cleaning, planting seedlings in our gardens, and putting away our heavy winter clothing. We begin to emerge out of our winter hibernation and step out into community gatherings and festivals. I consider this a time of rich potential around discerning how and where we spend our energy. As we move into Aries on the vernal equinox, the astrological new year begins. The turning of the wheel is conjunct the Full Moon in Libra, translating into a time of balancing personal self-care and individual pursuits with negotiation, compromise and partnership. There may be some tension around the energies of this polarity, so be as clear and gracious as you can while remaining committed to what fulfills you personally. It may be a bit of a balancing act, so remember to forgive yourself and approach all the competing parts with as much compassion as possible. Let the rest go. Aries wants us to approach life with a spirit of curiosity and invite more spontaneity into our lives. Watch for tendencies toward impulsiveness and aggression. Tend to the seeds that wish to be fueled by the Aries fire. What idea or creative endeavor wants to be birthed at this time? Libra loves togetherness and harmony, beauty and ritual. Ride the energy of the full moon to help you let go of anything that is not serving you. Here are two lunar-equinox rituals I love to use to help me connect with these energies. Letting Go on the Equinox Full Moon in Libra (March 20th) On the full moon add your favorite flowers, essential oils, spray or take essences (a combo of Liberation, and Love is the Way are my go-tos), salts and a pink quartz to the tub. Light some candles. White for clarity, green for healing, pink for compassion and love. Pick a tarot or oracle card for guidance and contemplation. Enjoy your favorite beverage. Be creative and do it if it has meaning for you. While in the tub, invoke your higher self and intend to release any burdens or perspectives that are bumming you out. Exhale stress, and inhale a sense of harmony and balance. Soak into the good vibes and yummy smells and know that as the water drains from the tub, you are releasing and letting go of anything that is not is serving you. Take some time to contemplate or journal about what balance means for you. Invoke on the New Moon (April 5th) During the new moon pen that which you wish to birth this year. Use colored markers, adorn your words, imbue them with beauty and glitter as you write down your intention. Do you want to birth a book, a baby, a partnership, a fulfilling career? Jot down how you wish to feel during the process. Dig deep. Maybe journal on this first for clarity. Hold some wildflower seeds in your hand and invoke your guides, your spirit animal, the energies of the universe, or someone or something that elicits good feelings in you and ask that your seeds and request be blessed. Blow your intention into your words. Fold paper, place in the earth or in a flower pot along with pink quartz from full moon bath. Lay down some soil and seed. Tend to your seeds with words of love and water that has been infused with essences. As the seeds spout, your dream may as well...or you are likely to have more clarity on next steps. Observe which flowers come up. It's fun to look at the meaning of the flowers that offer themselves to the sun. Contemplate the message it may be gifting you. In the event that you are having a Libra moment of indecision and have more than one project vying for your attention, repeat spell in several different pots. Write down your individual projects on the bottom of the pots. Nurture each one and see which one sprouts. You can use this as an oracle on where to allocate your attention and energy. Keep the pink quartz with you or on your alter as a reminder of the creation you are committed to nurturing. With infinite love and gratitude, Claudia
